Our Road to Sustainablility

Sustainability Report

At Sadiq Textile Mills, sustainability is not a trend — it’s a principle woven into everything we do. From sourcing to finishing, we aim to reduce environmental impact while maintaining the exceptional quality our clients expect.

We work primarily with natural fibers like wool, known for their durability, biodegradability, and low environmental footprint. But true sustainability goes beyond raw materials.

This report outlines our current eco-conscious practices across the production chain, as well as the goals we’ve set for a cleaner, smarter future in textile manufacturing.

Over 15 years ago, Sadiq Textile Mills launched its Green Initiative with the goal of making sustainability an integral part of our operations. Today, that commitment remains at the heart of everything we do. We continue to inspire our management, employees, and partners to align with these principles, ensuring that environmental responsibility and sustainable growth guide our decisions and define our future.

NATURAL & BIODEGRADABLE MATERIALS
Biodegradable wool fibers ready for processing

Current Practice:

Ethical & Responsible Sourcing:

We choose suppliers who align with our 15-year Green Initiative—prioritizing fair practices, cleaner production, and continuous improvement across the value chain.

Natural-First Approach:

We favour durable, natural fibres that age well, can be reused or recycled, and leave a lighter footprint than most synthetics.

Less Plastic, More Planet:

We actively limit synthetics wherever performance allows—reducing landfill risk and microplastic pollution across product life cycles.

If We Use Wool:

Where wool is part of a program, we commit to non-mulesed sources audited by trusted partners to support animal welfare and ethical farming.

Our Ten-Point Green Declaration:

  1. Natural by Design - We prioritise natural fibres wherever feasible.
  2. Renew & Replenish - We support farming and sourcing practices that can be renewed over time.
  3. Carbon-Aware - We track, trim, and target reductions in energy use and emissions.
  4. Buy Better, Waste Less - We design for durability, repairability, and longer wear.
  5. Built for Circularity - We favour materials and constructions that enable reuse and recycling.
  6. Biodegradability Matters - When products reach end-of-life, natural options should return to the earth safely.
  7. Wear More, Wash Less - We promote fibre choices and care guidance that reduce water and energy in use.
  8. Safe by Default - We follow strict chemical management and work toward cleaner inputs each season.
  9. Healthier Spaces - We consider comfort, breathability, and low-impact finishes for better indoor quality.
  10. People & Planet, Together - We uphold fair work, safe workplaces, and transparent partnerships.

Our Aims - Traceability & Transparency:

Trackable Fabrics (Pilot Programs):

We’re working with mills and spinners to offer traceable fabric programs—from raw fibre to finished cloth—on custom runs with longer lead times. If you’re interested in a fully traceable lot, get in touch and we’ll build it with you.

Eco-Smart Acrylic – Green From Fibre to Fabric
Energy-efficient textile machines in eco-conscious setup

Current Practice:

Green Mindset:

At Sadiq Textile Mills, sustainability isn’t an afterthought—it’s at the heart of every decision. While acrylic isn’t naturally biodegradable, we make eco-conscious choices throughout production to reduce environmental impact and create responsibly sourced fabrics.

Recycling Woven Into the Thread:

Our acrylic yarns include a recycled component, transforming post-consumer and post-industrial waste into high-quality fabrics. By giving materials a second life, we conserve resources and reduce the demand for virgin synthetics.

Water & Energy Efficiency:

From spinning to finishing, our processes are designed to minimize water use and energy consumption. Cleaner dyeing techniques reduce chemical impact, while smarter workflows help lower our overall footprint.

Waste Reduction & Zero-Waste Thinking:

We take a proactive approach to waste: offcuts, trimmings, and production by-products are reused, repurposed, or recycled wherever possible. Every step aims to keep materials in circulation and out of landfill.

Durability & Circular Design:

Acrylic fabrics from Sadiq Textile Mills are durable, long-lasting, and designed for circularity. We consider future recyclability, encouraging fabrics to be reused, repurposed, or re-spun when their first life ends.

Our Acrylic Sustainability Declaration:

To guide our choices and hold ourselves accountable, we follow this ten-point declaration for acrylic sustainability:

  1. Recycled Content - Prioritize yarns with recycled materials.
  2. Water Management - Conserve water throughout production.
  3. Zero Waste Mindset - Reuse and repurpose offcuts and waste materials.
  4. Cleaner Dyeing - Reduce chemical and water impact in colour processes.
  5. Energy Efficiency - Optimize energy use at every stage.
  6. Waste Reduction - Continuously track, measure, and minimize waste streams.
  7. Durability - Create long-lasting fabrics that reduce consumption.
  8. Circular Thinking - Design fabrics for future recycling or repurposing.
  9. Worker & Community Safety - Ensure processes protect people and communities.
  10. Continuous Improvement - Explore new fibres, greener techniques, and innovative recycling solutions.
SOLAR-POWERED OPERATIONS
Factory rooftop fitted with solar panels for clean energy

Current Practice:

Factory-Integrated Solar Panels:

We’ve outfitted the rooftops of our production units with high-efficiency solar panels that generate clean, renewable energy. With A 3MW installed capacity, Sadiq Textile Mills has saved 3600 Ton of CO2, these systems help power critical operations across spinning, weaving, and packaging without relying on conventional grid electricity during peak hours.

Lowered Carbon Emissions:

By transitioning to solar energy, we’ve dramatically reduced our carbon footprint. This shift not only cuts greenhouse gas emissions but also lowers our dependency on non-renewable resources — moving us closer to our goal of climate-resilient manufacturing.

Energy-Efficient Infrastructure:

Alongside solar installations, we’ve upgraded our internal infrastructure. LED lighting, motion sensors, and energy-optimized motors ensure that we use electricity only where and when it’s needed, minimizing excess consumption across departments.

Our Aims:

Expand Renewable Coverage:

Our solar energy capacity already surpasses daytime requirements, enabling us to fully power operations during working hours while generating excess electricity. This surplus is supplied back to the grid, creating a sustainable cycle where clean energy can be drawn at night. Building on this foundation, we aim to further strengthen our renewable coverage and reduce reliance on fossil-based sources.

Real-Time Energy Monitoring:

Smart monitoring tools are being piloted across our facilities to track solar performance, efficiency, and savings in real time. These insights allow us to fine-tune operations, enhance transparency, and continuously improve the impact of our renewable strategy .

Open Collaboration:

We welcome collaboration with sustainability partners and green technology innovators. With our renewable initiatives also contributing toward carbon credit potential, we remain open to partnerships with organizations seeking to align with measurable, impactful sustainability outcomes.
